For 70 years The Arc of McLennan County has been dedicated to expanding opportunities, care, and support for persons and families impacted by intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Arc of McLennan County is dedicated to expanding opportunities, care, and support for persons and families impacted by intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Organized in Waco in 1954, The Arc of McLennan County is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) membership association affiliated with The Arc of the United States and The Arc of Texas. Governed by a local board of directors, The Arc has programs for both children and adults with disabilities and provides support to parents and families as well.
All of The Arc’s financial support is local. Our funding comes from United Way of Waco-McLennan County, special events, membership dues, program revenue, local grants, and the generosity of the Waco community and donors like you.
There are over 500 Arc Chapters in the United States under the umbrella of The Arc US. Each one stands alone. 100% of all funds raised by each chapter stay with that chapter.
Over 1,500 families in McLennan County depend on the programs of The Arc of McLennan County. While roughly a third of our funding comes from United Way, the remaining balance comes from the generosity of our community. By making a donation or becoming a member of The Arc, you are not only building a consistent financial base for our organization, you are making a brighter future for hundreds of families in our community.
